Professor Lloyd currently serves as the Director of Orchestral Studies, the Music Director of the Opera Theatre and the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the School of Music at the University of Louisville. Additionally, she was recently appointed the Mortiz von Bomhard Endowed Chair of Music Theatre . where she is also, and. She has served her the Louisville artistic community faithfully in positions with Kentucky Opera, the Louisville Orchestra, the Louisville Youth Orchestra, and Music Theatre of Louisville. Before relocating to Louisville, Kimcherie lived, studied and worked in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she was active with the many artistic organizations including the Minnesota Orchestra, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, and the Minnesota Opera.
Educated in the United States and Austria, Professor Lloyd holds multiple degrees in performance and conducting, and she remains an active researcher in comparative humanities, with a current focus on the historical erasure of women in 19th and 20th century America in classical music and the intersection of gender and leadership. Her former students hold major positions all around the world.
